Erskine Rodan OAM has been practising law for more than 30 years. During this time he has excelled as a lawyer, in his contribution to the legal profession, as a Human Rights activist and as a businessman, building one of Australia’s premier immigration legal practices.

On 26 January 2009, Erskine was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for his services to the law, particularly through the Law Institute of Victoria, and to the community through legal aid and as an advocate for refugees.

Graduating from Melbourne University in 1974, Erskine worked at Slater & Gordon before expanding his experience at other firms and opening his own practice in 1977, where he concentrated on immigration law. He was instrumental in establishing immigration law as a specialist practice area, was a founding member of the Refugee Advice and Casework Service (now known as the Refugee and Immigration Legal Centre) and served on the Council of the Law Institute of Victoria between 1984 and 2006.

Erskine became an accredited immigration law specialist with the Law Institute of Victoria in 1992   and the Human Rights Equal Opportunity Commission has granted him a High Commendation Award for his long term legal advocacy of human rights and immigration matters. In 2007 the Law Institute of Victoria made Erskine an honorary life member and granted him the Paul Baker award, which recognises significant achievement in administrative and human rights law.

Erskine has been tireless in his efforts to build a legal practice that provides quality advice and assistance, and is renowned among his peers as one of Australia's foremost experts in immigration law. He possesses an incredible understanding of the legislation and is second to none in his application of the law to help his clients. Erskine currently focuses much of his work on family migration, skilled visas, appeals, refugee and humanitarian cases, and litigation.

Christine Rodan has been practising law for more than 20 years and has focused her legal career on immigration law. She has built a reputation for exemplary work with businesses and skilled migrants by tailoring solutions to meet her clients’ business and personal objectives.

Christine graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1974, obtaining both a Bachelor of Music and a Diploma of Education. She obtained her Bachelor of Laws (Honours) in 1987.

Christine joined Erskine Rodan & Associates in 1989 and became a Partner in 1994. Christine has managed the firm over extended periods of growth by using her business acumen and recruiting high calibre staff.  Her talents in the skilled and business immigration areas are well respected in the profession, and she became a Law Institute of Victoria Accredited Specialist in immigration law in 1994.

She possesses incredible insight, clarity and understanding of the law and how it applies to unique and complex situations. Christine’s main areas of practise include business migration, employer sponsorship, skilled visas, spouse and family migration, cancellations and appeals. Christine also has expertise in refugee and litigation matters.

Christine is an Executive Member of the Australian Legal Practice Management Association (ALPMA), a member of the Law Institute of Victoria, the American Chamber of Commerce in Australia (AmCham) and the Restaurant & Catering Association of Victoria.

Jo Knight joined Erskine Rodan & Associates in June 2001 and completed her studies in June 2003 with a Bachelor of Law (Honours) / Arts (Honours) combined degree. Her studies in both Arts and Law focused on international politics, human rights and development issues. She went on to undertake her Articles year at Erskine Rodan.

During her time at Erskine Rodan she has worked across all areas of immigration, with her primary areas of practice being in litigation, Tribunal reviews, matters raising discretionary factors, family, refugee and humanitarian areas.

In addition to her professional career, Jo has a keen interest in justice and development issues and has been proactive in this area for many years in a variety of voluntary roles. Jo is the President and Chairperson of the Board of the Oaktree Foundation, a youth-run aid and development organization.  She is also Chairperson of the Law Institute of Victoria’s Refugee Law Reform Committee, and a member of the Migration Committee, and Administrative Law and Human Rights Executive.

In 2008 Jo was selected as one of 20 women worldwide for the Rising Talents Programme of the Women’s Forum for Economy and Society, which identifies talented young leaders from economic, political, research, civil society and artistic fields.

Lena Hung Associate Lawyer Migration Agents Registration Number 0426795

Lena Hung earned both her Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce (majors in Accounting and E-commerce Implementation) from Deakin University in 2003.

Lena joined Erskine Rodan & Associates after completing her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Leo Cussen Institute in 2004. Her main areas of practice included skilled migration, business skills, employer sponsored visas and family visas.

In mid 2005, Lena managed her own practice working in immigration law, employment law and general business law.

Lena returned to Erskine Rodan & Associates in 2007 and currently practises in a range of areas including general skilled migration, business visas and student visa cancellations.

Lena is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria and the Migration Institute of Australia, and is fluent in Chinese Mandarin.

Nicole Lane Associate Lawyer Migration Agents Registration Number 0743557

Nicole graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts (Literature/Sociology) from Deakin University in 2002.

Prior to commencing work at Erskine Rodan & Associates, Nicole worked as an Associate at the Federal Magistrates Court of Australia, where she gained considerable experience in migration litigation. She has also worked as an editor at Lawlex, summarising legislation and compiling newsfeeds in the areas of litigation and legal practice.

Nicole joined Erskine Rodan & Associates in 2005 and undertook her Articles year. As a lawyer she works primarily in the areas of business and employer sponsored migration, and skilled migration. Nicole has particular experience in dealing with professional clients and businesses and assisting when business monitoring issues arise.

Tej joined Erskine Rodan & Associates in 2009 after completing his Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at the Leo Cussen Institute.

Tej studied at Melbourne University where he was awarded a Scholarship, and completed a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Accounting in 2008.

Prior to commencing work at Erskine Rodan & Associates, Tej gained experience in a general legal practice, with a criminal law barrister, and worked in a large public company where he dealt with corporate finance.
